I have a 2001 Mustang GT 5-speed pretty much stock engine wise,... But I was wondering at what RPMs should I lanuch my car to get the best take off... on street tires? And also at what RPM should I shift at when racing?

On street tires for me slipping the clutch at about 2500rpm works best and I shift at an indicated 6000 on the stock tach.

By 'slipping the clutch' I mean letting it out only part way at first and letting it slip until the car gets rolling so that it doesn't burn out. If you just dump the clutch off the line you will either burn out or bog the motor. It's something you just have to practice to get the feel of. It will wear out your clutch quicker, but you have to do it to get the best launch.

Which also hurts your launch. Your car cannot "sit down" like it should for drag racing. You may be able to corner well, but a stock suspension with the same mods as you will eat your lunch at the track. Just to let you know so you are not disappointed at the track. You will probably have a tendency to spin on the line.
