Default Where to buy????

i was wondering where the best place was to buy a new or used mustang engine (4.6L sohc). 99 and up. Or I was going to get a 96-98 engine and do the PI heads swap.

Ther are several places to by a 4.6l engine. You could check out your local scrap yard , find one in the want ads (both if you're doing the work yourself ), or you can buy a performance shortblock from SHM or some other shop like DTA racing and performance found on this site . Check out SD Wheeler on the members list .

www.junkyarddog.com

great site, and you should get a ton of replies from it. I had found very low mileage 99+ engines for as low as $1500.

If you want a used engine you can go to www.stangparts.com. Or if you want a brand new engine you can go to www.karkraft.com/performance.htm. They have all sorts of brand new Ford crate engines from a Bullit 2V to the new 5.4 Lightning engine.
