will 99-2002 cams out of the pi heads fit in the 96-98 stock heads
i know this is probably a dumb question but i had to ask....will the cams out of 99-02 pi gt heads fit in the 96-98 heads and if so would they give any kind of a power gain?i seriously doubt anyone has bothered doin this to tha pathetic 96-98 heads but if it can be swapped with out removing the heads and make a decent power gain it might be worth it????i would say u could probably get those from ford fairly cheap...

Actually someone had done this and found very nice gains in doing so, to the tune of 13 rwhp through an auto trans. The 96-98 heads are not as pathetic as they have been made out to be. More and more people are finding out that about 40% of the gain in HP with the PI 4.6 is in the cams.
PI cam swap

That is a great question that I have never heard asked before. Maybe one of the brains here can let us know if it is worth it, that is, cost of cams and installation VS HP gains ( if any ). If you find any info let us know, I saw the cams for cheap and was not sure if they would fit or even be any different that ours so didn't investigate any further. Now I may have to go back and do some research!

Umm... I already did some of the research for you. Read my post above and check the link.
As far as install, that would cost a good bit, so the PI cam upgrade might be something for the do-it-your-selfer. |

gain
after reading alot of some other forums, ive learned that you can expect around 20 hp gain and 20lb ft of torque gain, well worth the 250 bucks it costs to perform i think,im going to be doing this here in the next couple of months so i will let you guys know how it goes
peace

computer
to get the best performance out of it...yes....all the differents posts i read stated that their cars were running a little rich and the best thing to do is to have it dyno tested and tuned to get some hp numbers and optimal performance out of your car...
peace
