You have all of you emissions equipment hooked up right? hold for the cats. I dont see why you shouldnt. My last stangs pipes were black as night and it passed. Living in an area with a mill emissions are realy tight.
P.S. i see your in mt prospect. Ever go to the car show in Rolling Meadows?

You are the bad luck king. I would try turning the fuel really low, pic up the idle a bit, 1200rpms and keep the timing at 22. Go try like this. If it don't pass you have a probaition period to get it done, don't you?

yeah i do have time if i cant pass, it last year they didnt look under the car but i put cats on. Do you think i should take the chance of not buying cats? It is a 5,000 dollar fine..But i should just drop the fuel pressure and every thing should be ok? I also have the stock tb,egr spacer....stock intake...u think i should put that back on or is it better that i have more airflow.
thanks raini

What you need is a friend who is a mechanic that will pass for you. Thats what I have and I love it, pay for the inspection and cut him a few bucks

In the begining of the thread you said:
Well guys worse than a death in the family... guess what i recieved today. EMMISIONS notice, I am screwed what can i do to make my car pass What is an emissions notice and how did they find you. In NJ the smog nazis check us every two years and they also have the occasional road side inspections. Chuck88

He probly means the notice you get with your registration every two years. I have no cats so I always look for a shop or guy that will pass it for me illegally... usually costs me about $200.
But its better than spending the money to put cats back on.. and have my car be quiet. *boooooooooooooooo* |

In NJ they put your car up on a dyno and let it run at aproximately 15mph and take the readings I believe it is for a full minute but I could be wrong. When they first started this the idiots at DMV used to shoot the cars off the dyno (especially stangs) because they were unsure about the rear wheel drive status. But the good side is it's only once every 2 years. unless you get the roadside inspection then your in deep trouble.
Dont mean to ramble bnut about 4 years ago they made all the independant emission test facilities get this very expensive dyno or loose their emissions lisence. Now they are going to plug the cars in through the computer terminal and viola inspection complete the independant guys sure got the shaft this time (tax payers too) welcome to NJ Chuck 88

yeah they do the same here with obd cars they plug them in for cars newer than 96. But with my car they brought her up to about 80 brought her back down back up again back down back up and over and over for like 10min if you ask me it is bs.
