Default Wuz up???

Hey... I just bought myself a nice brand new 03 Mustang GT... I want to start modding it, but need to know where is the best place to start? I'd like to make the car eventually into a summer driver car only that will be the baddest Stang in the Detroit metro area... (big dreams I know). Thanks guys.

Well, do you want to keep your warranty or do you not care if it gets voided? That'll depend on what you can do to your car. There are different ways to go with mods depending on how you want to set up the car. Meaning do you want a straight line performer or do you want something that carves corners with the best sports cars in the world, or do you want a car that does both equally well?
To start with warranty in mind, I'd think about:
shifter
exhaust (H or X pipe with cats and a cat back system)
springs
subframe connectors

4.10s are definitely better than 3.73s for performance, but most people use 3.73s because they are less aggressive and they save a little bit of fuel.

I totally agree w/ 91LX2Bfast's recommendations for the starter mods. You might want to go with an off-road X or H pipe instead of one with cats though, if you really want your car to be just a summer driver that rips it up at the track. Also, upper and lower control arms would be a good thing to do with the springs and subframe connectors.

Warranty is definitely a big issue. If you aren't worried about warranty than you can do things like underdrive pulleys which will void it (they put yellow paint on the bolts of the stock pulleys that chips if you remove the bolts to let them know if it has been messed with).

For the 96-98's, 3.73 gears hit the power band better. Because of the new intakes on the 99+, the steeper gear ratio hits the power band better than 3.73's. He said he has an 03' GT...
