X vs H Pipes

Can someone explain to the pros and cons of X pipes versus H pipes? I have always had H pipes and wondered what all the hype is about with X pipes. I can't seem to find a good explanation anywhere on the net.

Do a search on corral.net. There's been a ton of discussion on the topic on there. On a street car the difference is mostly in sound. The H tends to make a bit more power down low but not as much up top, but the difference is only a couple horsepower on a mild motor.

I'm of the mind that the X-pipe is superior to the H, but like blue said, its a matter of taste on the street.

The h-pipe might make more power down low if the x-pipe is "too" efficient (read over scavanging), but thats just a guess.

its also my understanding that bafflled mufflers (like flows) inhibit the function on an X-pipe and that they work better with a straight through muffler like race bullets.
