Default Want THe Lowered Look... Slicks And BBK Progressive 1.5" Lowering Springs???

Will the bbk progressive rate lowering springs, and slicks, or drag radials work to get the 60ft down, or is ther a drag suspension that will lower the whole car 1" +???

The only advantage you will get from lowering your car is that you will improve your handleing. I would look into getting a complete drag suspention set instead. Most of them will keep it the stock height (or about there). I have not seen any that lowers but that doesn't mean that they do not exist.

I have the BBK/Edelbrock 1 1/2 inch lowering springs and slicks and I pull 1.7 60ft times with the front sway bar removed.

The tires are going to be the biggest single difference. With a set of sticky tires (ET streets, etc.) I don't think the springs will hurt you that much unless you're looking for wheels up launches.
My M/T sportsman pros are in and I'm going to Eagle for the night drags, so I'll let you know how they do, they're $189 apiece at Best Buy but they had to order them in.

Cool Too Spring or Not to Spring

If your looking for performance. Spend your money on lower control arms, tires and removing the front sway bar. A 90GT I had with stock block, heads, and intake. Basically pulleys, Southsides, 8X26 Goodyear Eagle slicks, removed front sway bar were all the mods. The car would cut consist 1.75 60 ft. times and run low 13's. Like someone said in a eariler post lowering improves handling and stance. You need to pick one of the two. Drag or handling. If you want best of both, leave the sway bar and change tires for street or drag.

Well in that case lower it and buy some stickys that don't rub and go for it. You can stiill change the lower control arms. Either way you can't go wrong with lower control arms or polyurethane bush and box in the stock ones.

Hey Bowtie, I tried the sportsman's this weekend and got decent results. I could still spin the heck out of them on the line and man could I feel them squirm before it took off but once they hooked, I was off! I only got my 60' times into the 2.00's (best was 2.001) but I no longer had to pedal all through first gear and I could just let it rip. I think my springs are too stiff though so don't get a specific rate spring.
For a lower stance and good hook use the Moroso front drag springs, they are designed to be cut to your desired ride height and store lots of energy for a good weight transfer. Then get some 4cyl. rear springs and they should sit a bit lower as well.

Oh yeah Kris, I finally hit a 13.93 @99 mph in air that corrected to 4200ft so I can't wait to see what it'll do at Mission!
