Brembos on. What to do with the rear?
I installed a set of 4 piston Brembos this weekend. Very nice. My question though, is what to do with the rear brakes?
The car is a weekend warrior street car, and will probably see some auto-xs. Should I just put on some better pads? Or would it be worth while to upgrade? Rotors, lines, ect? Thanks. |

Try putting on some better pads. The rears really dont do _that_ much for stopping. You already have disk rear brakes. My M2300K Cobra brakes have 13" & 12" rotors, you will have (assuming) 13" and 11". See if you really _need_ them. Do you have an adjustable prop valve. Play with the settings and see if you can dial in the rear brakes to lock up...

They're the 11.65" vented single piston Cobra units.
I don't have an adjustable prop valve. How much do they usually run, and how hard are they to install? Thanks! |

Adjustable proportioning valves usually run about $50. They're not too hard, just disable the factory non-adj. valve, and thread the new one in line.

You can gut the factory prop valve with the Motorsport "plug" for like $9.
See my M2300K INSTRUCTIONS page. The adjustable prop valve is like $50 and sits right next to the passenger side hood hinge.
