Default Danger-weld Wheels Cracking

Has anyone ever experienced Weld Draglites cracking? I have a set of 15 x 5.5 Draglites XP's that are about 2 years old.

They are starting to crack in the same place that the other rim about 6 months ago completely failed. I'm trying to see if anyone has heard about these wheels having this kind of problem. I torque the wheels to 85 ft/lbs.

Thanks
Chris

Damn thats a long sig, lol. I have heard of Weld wheels folding when the caster/ camber isn't adjusted right. Espically on the street, they don't seem to like corners too much.

Yeah, my 15X3.5" front runners cracked right around the lug area. I was cruising at about 120 down the highway, and when I got to my nieghborhood my brakes started to make a funny noise. I went to check them when I got home and when I pulled the wheels imagine my surprise when they fell into three pieces. It was the wheels making he noise. I guess my Irish luck just gets me through sometimes.

Although, I don't like to admit it, I've been driving mine on the street now for about two years, I have the camber plates adjusted for street/strip use, but still go through front tires about every 6 months., now that the car is trailored I am saving money in front tires. Anyway, i never had any probs with the rims, even some bad bumps that I thought they were done, they were ok. I have the draglites not the 5 star type, maybe that has something to do with it. I have at least 5 other friends who drive them daily too.

I've got a buddy with a 69 Camaro and about 4 years ago we noticed some cracks on his front tires. He had the drag-lites and they didn't crack around the lugs like PKRWUD's picture shows. The cracks extended from the lugs out to the rim lip. I think he had them replaced for free.

I'm starting to wonder if Welds are junk.
