Default 99 Cobra Engine....

I've read stuff here and there about the lack of power. It sounds like it's just a 98 Cobra engine.
What are you thoughts on it?

99 Cobras made 15 more HP and 17 more lbs or torque. Both of them are fast IMO. Thanks.

That's what they claimed, but I've been hearing otherwise. About poor performance. Anyone else heard claims of this?

This issue was addressed and rectified by Ford over 2 years ago. They make more hp than the 98's. The reason for the initial car not making the advertised 320 was because of an intake mismatch at the last second. The 99s have a different intake and heads.

In reality, the 99 Cobra engine made closer to 340hp with the fix. God, how does this junk keep circulating? I swear it's like TFS TW heads have bad valve guides all over again.

By the way, you can't compare a 98 Cobra engine to a 99 Cobra engine directly with data from a chassis dyno. The IRS on the 99 cars is less efficient so the results are skewed in favor of the 98.
