Sway bars

Are front and rear sway bars worth it. If so what are some good brands?

I believe you are asking "are aftermarket sway bars worth it?" .

IMOHO, not yet. Sure I have had them in the past, on my Zephyr, and they were cool in that they were adjustable. My friend currently run MM stuff (but he's just weird). :)

I dont, and wont for a looooong time. Not worth it (yet). Most systems (Griggs/MM) are designed to work with the stock stuff. You are adding more complexity to the equation without know what that will do.

Someone wanna prove me wrong, go ahead. This is just my opinion.

I was just wondering because I have the stock V6 front and rear sway bars and with me converting to a bigger engine should I upgrade them too. Or is it pointless to.

Upgrading from V6 to V8 and swapping V6 swaybars to V8 swaybars is a good idea, and yes, I would recommend that.
(look around, SOMEBODY bought some aftermarket ones, that would glasly make a few bucks selling theirs, dont buy new).

My first point is there are a LOT of ther things I would do before going to aftermarket V8 swaybars.

whether you choose larger anti-roll bars or stiffer springs and shocks will depend on your suspension philosophy. i follow bmw's philosophy that softer springs and stiffer anti-roll bars are the best way to go as you get better traction on a bumpy surface because the tires stay on the ground, and you use the anti-roll bars to control body roll. that said, i have seen equally competitive setups with stiff springs and shocks, and the suspension tuned to the track with anti-roll bars. one philosophy is no more right or wrong than the other, and that is proven by race results. ultimately it is your choice. mercedes uses the opposite philosophy to bmw's and they are equally good handling cars, but the bmw's ride better, and yes i have been in both cars.
