No upper control arms????

I bought my 1992 LX about a year ago and it handles and drives great.

I was changing the rear brakes today and noticed the car doesnt have any upper control arms.

This car has a ton of suspension mods so I am not sure what the deal is. Maybe the torque arm negates the upper control arms????

Thats-a-lotta-car!!!

Yes, the panhard does the side-to-side location, and the torque-arm does the rotational resistance. You dont need upper control arms.

Right now the car has a stock 5.0 HO with a small vortech blower on it. I am about to put in my H/C/I 331 stroker that will make substantially more power. Is the torque arm, panhard bar a sturdy set-up???

For example should I be worried about bolting on some slicks and doing a high RPM launch???

Depending on which T-arm you have. There is the HeavyDuty and the SuperDuty. You can tell them apart, as one looks about 2" wide and make from single tube. The SD looks 3" wide, made from 2x 1.5" tubes.
Its not really a drage race suspension, and if you ONLY plan on that, there might(?) be better systems. But for street/roadrace you got just about the best!

I believe Griggs once stated... something about 600hp...

I have come to realize than when you set-up a car to be a drag car it handles and rides like crap. This is going to be my pampered super fast daily driver.
