Default upper control arms

Lately my car has been riding really harsh. I just had rear shocks put on and it semmed to help for about a month and now its bad in back but worse in the front. My dad works for ford and he said that the springs dont go bad there just a dampener. I read and article in a mustang magazine that the upper control arms can go bad a squeak. It just seems like the tires just want to blow throught the floor everym time i hit a bump. Any thoughts would be good
