Auto-Cross vs. Road Racing Setup
I'm considering doing an auto-cross. I have the Steeda G-Trac 3 suspension. Basically after a lot of tweaking followed by some crazy driving to test the limits on a road course, followed by some more adjustments, followed by some more crazy driving, ect. I got the car so at the limits its neutral. That is there's no understear or non-throttle induced overstear at the limits. All 4 corners break loose at the same time.
My question is for an autocross would a little more overstear be helpful? Or should I leave it the way it is? Thanks! |
I dont autocross, but it is my "observation" that people tend to try to induce oversteer. On an autocross track, the course is usually shorter (than roadracing), and much tighter. You want to get around those cones.
I adjust my panhard for the street in the same manner. I set it up for more oversteer, because I am usually being more careful on the street and not doing open track speeds. ------------------ Darius Rudis Home built t-arm/panhard suspension powered by an S-trimmed motor :-) My Mustang Page |
Exactly how do you adjust a panhard bar to affect handling?
