Griggs install - any tips?
Drudis,
I went through the recent Griggs group purchase and i'm getting a whole bunch of stuff. I mixed and matched but it's basically the complete GR40 Street coil-over setup. Any installation tips or recommendations? |
What year car?
Wadda ya wanna know? Like, I can suggest installing the control arms onto the k-member first (before installing into the car)... ------------------ Darius Rudis Roadracer: Home built t-arm/panhard suspension powered by an S-trimmed motor :-) My Mustang Page |
Sorry - forgot to list my sig. I've never screwed with the suspension of a car before, so any and all hints/tips would be appreciated. Since you've redone the front end of your car with Griggs components, I thought I'd ask. That and the cc.com posts aren't archived, so I figured any searching on that board wouldn't turn much up. BTW, did you design your TA/PHB yourself or did you model it after someone else's?

Yeah, I copied the design off of Griggs and the Mustang Performance Handbook-II (both). Then took the best of both, and made my own.
Mostly, you'll have questions as you get going during the installation. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif p.s. While you are at it, order a set of DELRIN bushings from Griggs (if you are doing tubular control arms / k-member). The stock ones arent that great, and they are only $80. ------------------ Darius Rudis Roadracer: Home built t-arm/panhard suspension powered by an S-trimmed motor :-) My Mustang Page |
I did get the Delrin bushings for the arms. They were highly recommended....btw, what do you feel is the weak point(s) to the Griggs standard torque arm?
