Steeda 5 link
Have you guys seen this thing?
Looks pretty good. I haven't heard any pricing yet. What do you guys think? |
Anyone?
|
Yes, I've seen it. Yes, it's cool. No, I don't know the price yet.
I know the guy that engineered it and runs the proto on his car (before it was even a Steeda part). Results should be nothing short of fantastic for road race, ground clearance, and comfort. I'm considering replacing my torque arm setup with this new one once we get our Steeda line in the shop. ------------------ Greg Banish President, Detroit Speedworks '93 LX Incons, Baers, Torque Arm, Stereo '00 Bad-Ass F150 |
Ditto! Rob and I race together, and I am VERY impressed with his design. He sold the design/rights to Steed who will manufacture/market it.
Pricing should be comperable to other products out there. But the design incorporated many mounting references already on the car, so the install need not be done by a professional. VERY nice piece in deed. ------------------ Darius Rudis Roadracer: Home built t-arm/panhard suspension powered by an S-trimmed motor :-) My Mustang Page |
Thanks!
I know it replaces the upper control arms, but does it work with the adjustable sway bar? I ask because I have their current setup, and depending on how much it costs to upgrade, I think I will. |
5.0 Mustang (formerly Super Ford) did a piece on the 5-link and said it would come in at about 995-1000 dollars. My question is there enough space to install rear coilovers?
|
The Steeda package *should* leave plenty of room for rear coil-overs. I know it is designed to use the stock rear spring locations, unlike the IPS setup that requires coil-over, but I don't see why you couldn't run coil-overs if you wanted to.

Actually, the IPS sport shaw-link doesn't require coil-overs, but you don't get the same reactive-kinematics... more like a regular watts link. I think it is upgradable to the coil-overs though.
