Default GT rims on v6 stangs?

whadaya think?

for the longest time, i used to think it was weak and lame......

but then i got to thinking,

it seems acceptable and tasteful to put cobra rims on gt's, cobra r's on gt's,

i like civic si or integra gsr rims on civic dx, ex's..........i like vw gti rims on vw golfs

i now see at least three 6 bangin' stangs with gt rims and dual exhaust these days.......half of them want to run me......... *shrugs*

if you mean the newer "GT" rims...arent they just bullitt rims in grey? ...so the GT ripped those too...lol...and im all for putting nicer rims on cars with 15" rims or hubcaps, because those just look like crap...but i just hate it when people use hubcaps that look like chrome "bling bling" rims *cough walmart cough*...those are so cheap looking...ive even seen the new GT wheels on sn95 stangs around here...i think they look better on the newer stangs though...

I think that is fine. The v6 rims are fugly IMO. Now if someone puts the GT rims, GT badges and starts talking like they have a GT or could beat GT's then that is just stupid and rice.

Later,
Nick

Funny you mention that... a friend of mine that attends all of the area car/truck shows termed the phrase "dub-caps" one evening to poke fun at someone's really fancy chrome hubcaps. It just kinda stuck after that, LOL.

So that's what we all call 'em now.... 'dub-caps'

(a 'dub' is a 20" rim, btw, for those fortunate enough to have never been exposed to such jargon)

The v6 cars are undertired, and take off rims from somone elses GT is the easiest way to get real rubber down there. Works for me. Now duals, and saleen badges are another story. Yes I saw that last night. ugh.

i hear ya, i alway see 99+ V6's that have huge 3.5 or even 4" chrome pipes sticking out 6" past the back bumper. and they have to put them under the back bumper because they're too cheap just to buy a GT bumper with cutouts *sigh*. and there is usually one pipe hanging lower than the other, like they got them bolted on by a minimum wage punk at Pep Boys.

then they top off the look with some Walmart foglights that stick way out of the holes where the GT foglights should be. blegh! but there are alot of nice variations people can do with GT amd Cobra rims. most wheels mix well with most Mustang models.
