Default Roll cage questions

I run in c-prepared at my local SCCA club and i'm getting ready to install a roll cage in my 86gt. Rules say that its not required for this class but if done needs to be 1 3/4 x .120 DOM. If its not required anyway could I just use 1 3/4 x .095 ERW since its just used to tie everything together. Price is half of what a DOM cage is.

I would confirm with the rulebook. Or even ask a local inspector and make sure! You get it wrong... DOH!
You may also look into "similar" rulebooks, in case you wish to cross-polinate and try NASA AI/AIX series, or CMC CamaroMustangChallenge...
