Default FYI to all idle problems/ignition/drivabilty issues

Here is something that I finally found out the hard way. the first thing I would check for when you have bucking, bad idle, ignition issues, or any sort of drivabitly problems or TFI's cooking up, CHECK THE ENGINE GROUNDS!!! After 2 seasons of fighting with my car and spending tons of money, my issue was a bad engine ground. I installed a separate temporary copper 4 gauge ground wire to the distributor hold down nut and right to the negative side of the battery and BAM problems all gone with the smoothest idle at 750rpm with a F-cam with no lope or surge and the cleanest ride ever. Its like nite and day. now all i need is to replace all the original grounds with new wiring. hundreds of dollars and stress all caused by a faulty ground. hope this helps others. I am so happy now

Thumbs up

Man, that sucks! Glad you FINALLY got it taken care of. What a relief! But here again is a good example of why you always start out with the easiest and sometimes (not all the times, though) the most obvious problems in the diagnosis procedure. (not saying that you didn't do this). That's one thing I can say about my 351W-powered '79--- simple to work on. No big computers or complex fuel systems with stuff that always seem to work against you. Can't wait until my '92 GT starts acting crazy .

Once again, though, glad you got that issue cleared up and that the stang is driving properly.
