Default max tire size

I have a set of 17x9 wheels on a 92 gt lowered 1- 1/4", and has new upper and lower control arms- no quad shocks. What is the max tire size I can use in the front and rear. Thank you.

-I suggest talking to the pros so you can avoid tire rub, unless you roll the fenders in

It depends on your backspacing but generally you can get a 255 up front and 275 or 285 out back. If you want it to handle good it's best to run the same size front and rear since Mustangs like to push.

Thank you guys for your help. I am more interested in corner carving, but would still like to be able to hook when some of the local rice ends up next to me at a light.

275's in the rear are do-able, but you will need lateral-locating device (panhard or watts) to keep the axle from shifitng side-to-side and putting your tires into the fender or rubbing on the inner wheelwell.
