wheel and tire selection
I have a 92 lx 5.0 5 speed and want to increase its handling capabilities. I want to know what the widest wheel tire combo i can fit. i was thinking of roh 16 x 8 with 255 50's. Will these fit? also, if i lowered the car 1" would they still fit? and if not what will. I figure it will need an alignment after lowering, will i need caster camber plates ect, or will a shop be able to do an alignment with the cars current/factory setup. Thanks

Check the archives in the Corner Carvers section. I highly recommend the ROH 16x8 with 245-45 or 245-50 tires. The 255-50's will be too "tall" to fit in the wheel well.
I personally ran both the 245-50's weee bit too tall, then went to 245-45's (short) but fit great. Check out the photos of my car with them on it: Mustang wheels and tires ------------------ Darius Rudis Home built t-arm/panhard suspension powered by an S-trimmed motor :-) My Mustang Page |
