Hurt it very badly!
That's a drag racing shock, made for quick weight transfer for launching. Quick weight transfer in autocross usually = spin out. Get some struts/shocks matched to you spring rates. Those megabites are not a very good control arm for autocrossing either, they bind up in corners. GW lowers would be much better for autocross, maybe you can sell the Jr. and put the $ towards some Global West lowers. Is everything else stock besides what's in your signature? I believe those pulleys will put you in Street prepared if I'm not mistaken. ------------------ 96 GT: KB subs, March pulleys, Bassani X pipe, 3.73's, alum. drive shaft, 70mm TB, K&N, KB Carbon Kevlar BP, Steeda Tri-ax shifter, Flowmasters, MSD wires H&R springs, Tokico Illuminas,MM C/C plate & GW RLCA sitting in the garage waiting for a free weekend... |

Yeah everything else is stock...for now. I'm getting ready to rebuld. But anyway my Mach 1 hood puts me in CP. I'm not planning on being competitive I just race for fun. When I put the lowers on I didn't know that they would hurt me. But I read later that they would. I got them for cheap so no big deal. I'm building the engine and then going to suspension. I want to get a suspension that will handle well but not kill me at the track. But I know that's hard to do if possible at all. Oh well thanks!

hey 1989gt,
there is a suspension that can handle as well as launch. i have the ips grand sport rear suspension on my 90. i have pulled a 1.86 60' on real street tires(245/50-16 re-71) with a 3.55/tracton-lok. i just put some bfg drag radials (315/35-17) on the car now that it's widened and i'm sure the car will pull 1.6's. go to ipschassis.com and look at the grand sport rear. i've had it on my car for almost 3 years now and it is awesome. ------------------ cool tan 5.0 cover car may 99 triple threat |
