Which side exhaust is better?
I know that Borla and Dynomax both make a side exhiting exhaust for my 97 GT. But which will give me the most power? Also which has the more powerful, louder sound? Are there any other side exhiting kits besides these two?

I only have experience with my Borla but 98MustangGT just recently purchased the Dynomax kit from www.classicdesignconcepts.com and is in the process of putting it on. I would think the Dynomax setup would be louder but the Borla has a nice mellow, aggressive tone and all the pipes and muffs are nice T304 stainless steel so they're gonna last. The Dynomax has a single oval tip on either side while the Borla has dual angled tips on either side. There really aren't any power gains with just a catback but I would imagine the two setups are comparable. Every little bit helps in the long run. Mine fits great and I have had zero clearance issues with it even though it's lower than stock. I think Roush might sell their setup as well. Follow my sig and look at the pics.

Yup! The body shop is painting my side moldings today and since Monday is labor day, they are putting it on Tuesday. Finally! Anyway, yeah, like Stefan said, Classic Design Concepts makes a setup, as does Borla. But, there is one more I saw. It looks like the side exit on a Cobra R. You can find it at www.karkraft.com . I like the new side molding you get more than coming out under the old one, IMO. I also got my exhaust kit through a group purchase.

The best side for the exhaust kit is the outside.

Have you considered Bassani? They make the best stainless exhaust IMO. Available polished and ceramic coated exhaust tips.
At least take a look. http://www.bassani.com/ If willing to buy a stainless exhaust give them a shot. Mike ------------------ Live near St.Louis? Check out Mustang Muscle and Dyno in High Ridge, MO Check out my ride. |
