Default Spindle Identification

Is there any way of positively identifying whether a spindle is an SN-95 or an SN-96 spindle?

I bought a used front-end braking set-up from MustangParts Specialties and they told me the spindles came from a 1995 car, but it already had loaded PBR calipers bolted to it, which leads me to believe it came from a 99+ V6 or GT. Also, I seem to have more clearance behind my Cobra R's than I would have expected... which makes me lean towards an SN-96 spindle. How can I tell?
