Post Strut question

not really a corner carver, but....

I got new shocks and struts (yr 2000 take offs) and plan to install them myself. I know the rear are a snap, what about front? if I am replacing stock with stock, will I still need an alignment?

The front is easy. You just need to put the car on stands and put a jack under the control arm. After that just unbolt it and put the new one in. The hardest part is usually getting the nut off the top as they can be difficult to break loose if the shaft spins.
There is no need to get an alignment unless you mess with the adjustments or change ride height.

Watch the two strut bolts (to the spindle) for _where_ they sit...
These holes may have some slop in them, and if you remove the strut seta t one extreme, and reinstall at the other extreme, you camber may be a wee bit off. Just try to see if they sit in the "middle".
DOnt really worry about anything else. Other than you may need to borrow an impact gun to loosen the top nut of the strut. MOST people do. Drive to a garage, ask them to remove it, then reinstall by hand with a socket wrench to get you home...
