Wanted 65 Fastback Racing History

My name is David Watkins and I live in Perth Western Australia.
A number of friends and I have built 65 Fastback Race Cars and we desperately need
HELP
In order to get a CAMS Log Book [the Australian Racing Authority] so we can race our cars we require proof that in 1965 NON Shelby Fastbacks were raced some where in the world. The logical place is the USA.
We require an artical giving details that a NON Shelby 65 Fastback was raced. A picture would be fanfastic.
You can see pictures of my Poppy Red 65 A code at the Northam Races on our clubs webb site www.fordmustangs.com

That sucks! they won't let a car race unless it has legit racing history!? Does it have to be the 65 model year? In the book Fearsome Fords 1959-73, it has a pic and caption from a pair of stangs competing in a rally (Monte Carlo?) Also has a pic of a 65 A/FX drag car (factory backed). Oh and here to quote from the book

" Budget cuts for 1965 eliminated the extensve program of past years, though some mustangs were entered by Ford's european branches and private individuals. Mustangs became instant favorites with private individuals in the U.S and Canada from introduction on, but major factory support was several years off.
Far more extenisve was a drag racing program for the Mustang, yadda, yadda, yadda"

Hope this helps? Its a brief passage but it still indicates that in 65 Mustangs where raced with limited support?

Ask this question at www.saac-mcr.com or www.saac.com .
You may have a better chance of some Shelby guys answering that.
