Default Best Handling Early Mustang?

Which Mustang has the best handling of the 64 1/2-70? I want a small block engine, but handling is my main concern.

My '65 mustang has a 289 and really good handiling, but I don't know about the rest.

I'll take 2. I wish I had a 302 Boss. Ohh.... well I'll still with my 351, I don't mind her at all though. I've yet to drive my stang so I don't know what kinda of handling she has. =) But all I want to go is straight and for about let's say a 1/4 of a mile or so.

Would you consider a 71-73? They are a little heavier and bigger but mine has all stock suspension and handles better than any other mustang I have ever driven including fox bodies. They are also the lowest and widest of the mustangs and that makes them extremely stable in corners.

I think if you a good handling mustang you're going to have to stay with a 70 or older. The ones that stand out are 65-66 GT 350 and 69-70 Boss 302.

I have a 68 FB with a 289 and many suspension and wheel upgrades. It handles pretty good for what it is...but it is still a 30+ year old car and technoligy.

Are we talkin "stock" or resto-modded? Mine handles very well, but I tried to run with a another 66 that had a Griggs setup. After a couple corners he left me standin still. A Griggs, TCP, Global West, etc... setup does wonders for these old Ponies.
