Question XR42I Good or Bad

What are your thoughts on building a little corner carver out of a XR4TI?

There is a guy up the street from my parents house who has one. It hasn't moved in a while. It has light collision damage to grill & hood. I know it was given to him from his grandmother. The granny is the orig owner & used it very little. I think it has under 30k miles.

I know its a Turbo 4-cyl, manual trans & independent rear wheel drive. I have seen a couple at the local track.

What are the possibilities? How $$ are the parts? Are there race parts available?
