Hood Pins on a Mach 1 not locking
I am new to the Mustang world - just bought my first car a 1970 Mach 1 from the original owner.
I am wondering why the hood pins are not latching the way they should. They go flush, but they don't lock. They do seem to lock somewhat, but not all the way down. Any help would be appreciated! Dave Here's a shot of the Mach 1 http://images.andale.com/f2/124/102/...18907_Mach.jpg |
Re: Hood Pins on a Mach 1 not locking
If they are the spinner type that are spring loaded they can be adjusted. The lenght of the pin itself can be made longer/shorter.
Also the little plate where the pin goes down through can be moved side to side etc. Id say if they go flush but are not catching good, look at the plates. They move around from time to time. O-yeah. Welcome to MustangWorks.com! |

Thanks, mustangII460!
I will check that out. I was trying to see how they work, but couldn't figure it out. I will definitely check the plates - there is some new wear on one edge, it seems that the pins are hitting that edge and not getting through. Maybe an adjustment will fix that. Thanks for the welcome, too! Dave |
