F150 Question

What is the biggest wheel, tire combo I can put on a 1990 F150 (not 4x4). Also what is the cheapest lift that will get me 2 or 3".

Thanks

So you have a 2 wheel drive and you want the 4wd look?? Is that what your asking? If so I have no idea what size all terrain or mud type tire will fit on that truck. If you want the 2wd look still I have 17x9 wheels with 275/60 17 eagles on my truck. Stock size for 94-96 lightnings. Check it out in my sig.

You could go with a body lift for 2" for under $100. You could fit some 33's in there easily...

How hard is a body lift to do yourself. Do I need any special tools?

I had 33X105. 15's on an 86 f-150 2wd with no lift and they fit fine. The only time I had a problem was on really large holes, but thats almost anytime you put bigger tires.

Brad, I think that with a 2/3" drop or a 3/4" drop your truck would be ultra sexy.:)

I am pretty sure they only make drops for that body style in 2" differences. Like 3/5" and 5/7" drops. I have looked for a 2/3" or even a 2/4" and I havent found one yet. I've got a 3/5" and my front drivers tire rubs.

My tires rub now as is when I make a hard turn.. No way those tires would fit with a lowering kit. When I need new tires I am going to look at a 2/4 drop and shorter tires. Just havent made up my mind yet.

If you can find a 2/4 drop aor your truck, let me know. I'd love to go from a 3/5 to a 2/4 and I've looked everywhere I can think of.
