Default Alternator output

Question? I want to put a sound system in my 66. I also have the MSD system on thier I will be putting on an electric fan and electric water pump (maybe). Would I have to use the stock alternator or can I go to higher amp alternator without fring all the other circutry in the car.

I highly recomend that you get a higher amp alternator. Your battery will thank you. At least a 100 amp from power master or even better a 140 amp. What I'm doing is using a 3g 130 amp alternator and adaptening to my system. Just upgrade the wire that goes to batter to 4-8 guage wire. No more external regulator with this so thats a plus to clean up the engine compartment. For the ease I'd go with a powermaster from summit. Great product.
