Fuel pump relay questions

Hey Guys ... got a strange fuel pump relay question...
I'm pretty sure my fuel pump relay is broken. I went to go to work the other day turned the ignition on ...no fuel pump noise? turned the ign. off then on again it came on for the 2 secs that it's suppossed to ran fine to work and back...figured it was my fuel pump relay...fine I'll fix it later but first I'll wash it, as I'm washing it (keys in my pocket) the fuel pump keeps coming on,.. then off again???? about every 3-5 mins? (just for the 2 seconds)
I went to start it, fuel pump came on, car started,..ran for a sec. or 2, then died,..turned the ign. off then on,.. fuel pump came on, but she won't start,... now there's no fuel pump noise and it won't start??

Is all this because of my fuel pump relay is broken?
Is there a way to bypass the relay and get the car running? (I'm blocking my wife in the garage:( )

Thanks eh guys, sorry for the long post...
Big Bopper.

This is just going from memory. It seems like you can ground the terminal FP on the test port plug (the one that you use to get the codes from). Maybe someone else will jump in here.
