Question Hood Blanket Nastiness...

Does anyone know how to SAFELY clean the stock hood blanket on the underside of the hood? Mine is getting dirty, and attempts to clean it just make it unstable or just fall apart...

Is there any way to clean these things?
Any good looking\cheap replacements?
Or should I just remove it....
(I've heard that engine heat isn't too good for hoods)

Any help would be appreciated...

Hammer:

My favorite parts distributor, Mustangs Unlimited has original factory replacement hood insulation for your car.

On page 97 in the new catalog

Part# F2831

$58.65 + S&H. 800-243-7278

I replaced mine with a factory piece from Mustangs Unlimited last year and it fit and looks great. Perfect replacement...even has the embossed 'pony' Get the retaining clips.

Cool

I don't know how stained yours is but mine cleaned up real well with a weak mixture of Simple Green and water. I didn't do any rubbing or anything - just sprayed on the mix and lightly hosed it off. I did this about three times and when it dried it looked great.
If all else fails, $58 doesn't sound to bad for a new one.
