Default Foglight relay questions

I've tried this elsewhere and gotten zip, but what the heck...

I'm planning on rewiring my foglights to a relay to avoid overheating the stock wiring (Its only overheated on me once so far, but that was enough, LOL)
I've done a little wiring, but wanted to clarify a few things and maybe get some others exp before I dig in. Especially since every article I've been able to find was on sn95s, and this is a "new adventure" for me.

1: I've got a 30 amp relay, that claims to be able to handle 4 55w driving lamps/2 150 w off road lights or a 300 amp horn. This should be sufficient since the stock fogs are 55w. Correct?
I'm also planning on running a 30amp inline fuse, should the fuse be upstream on the relays power line? Or between the relay and the lights? Would a second in the switch line be overkill? Same thing for using 12-14ga for all the connections.

2: According to the wiring schematic, the power from the fog light switch should be a pink/blk, any suggestions as to the best place to splice in? behind the switch? or elsewhere in the harness? I'm looking for the cleanest possible instillation, with the minimum of cutting.

3: How much more of a pain would it be to wire the fogs independant of all the other lights? From looking at the diagram, couldnt I just route the red/blk from the fog input terminal to the "always hot" in the main light switch?

4: What am I missing? Dumb assumptions? Potential disasters overlooked? Whats the experience pool here have to say?

Thanks in advance,
J
