Post switching to 4.10 from 3.73

Is this worth it? I have to rebiuld my rear end anyway so was thinking about adding abit more gear.My car will be on nitrous next year also so I dont want to run out of gear at the big end. Trap speeds should hopefully be about 114 with 125 shot.

Boy, oh Boy,

I have been thinking of going with a shot of Giggle myself, for both the driver and the car! Ok, seriously now, I have many friend that are running the juice, and they have had at one time or another 3.73 gears, several of them ran out of top end, while running on the bottle. In other words they didn't have any more rpms to give, so they changed gears and went back to 3.27 in one case and the other 3.50.
Both of them use it after the 60' mark and run it through the lights. I have another buddy only runs his at launch, and doesn't run out of rpms, but he runs faster times, buy eating up the first half of the track, especially the 60' time is important, each.1 takes off .2 at the other end, so play around and see what happens I say gear it, you can always add bigger tires, and change the gearing that way, and they are cheap. And if you have a 5 spd, you have nothing to loose, you still have OD..

You won't notice the difference. 3:73 to 4:11 is a very small gap.

You WILL notice the difference. 3:73 to 4:10 is a nice jump. I did this same swap on my AOD and its been great. A great big improvement. Go for it.

Go for it. I love my 4.10's but i went straight from 2.73's to 4.10's and broke the aod right away. so now i'm running a tremec tko so i don't have much to worry about. I would go 4.10's i love them. but now i'm working on a 396 with a vortech s trim so i may back off the gears a little.
