Default Help adjusting my clutch cable.....Please!!!

Greetings to all,
My first post: I drive a 92 5.0L LX Sedan...
I have replaced my clutch and cable with an aftermarket one. I assume my cable needs adjustment beacause I feel a bit of a slack or shudder when releasing. Once my mechanic went under the dash with a wrench and adjusted it. I'm not sure as to what to do...loosen the bolt that hold the pedal , pull up and tighten. I do not want to fiddle not knowing what to do. Can someone please shed some light on this. I will stand by.
Thanks.
