2001 F-150 5.4 SuperCrew
Back to Ford.... Went from Stang, to Trans Am, to Dakota, to F-150 SuperCrew in 1 year.... Geez....
Here's what I got. Bone Stock 2001 F-150 SuperCrew with 5.4L Trition. Ideas on opening up intake/exhaust? I know the usual, K&N/Holley, FlowMaster/Borla, etc... Specifics please, good/bad experiences, etc???? Thanks...

Your best bet would be to head over to www.f150online.com/ and check into the forums over there. You should be able to find what you want. Of course it's basically the same as you would do to about any motor with the exception of head/intake/cam changes. You could probably upgrade to some of the Lightning components.

The K&N kit not just the filter is the only way to go. Throttle body spacer, chip or programmer. I prefer the chip. Headers are a nice mod to these trucks but Hella expensive. A good exhaust redo until you can afford the headers would be a great help as well. Borla's sound awesome on a truck, for some reason they dound different on cars and trucks.. My experience is that on the 5.4 trucks the low tone isnt as easily achieved as on a truck with a 4.6.. Why I have no idea but Ive never heard one that has that LOW deep tone that alot of people want.
