I have a 80 coupe that came with the I-6 and c-4. I needs to install a double hump cross. All the cataloges tell me that I need to mod. the cross for it to work on my car. What is it I have to do.

they are adjustable..the side pieces slide back and forth... once you get it installed and lined up, you need to tack weld the sides in... no biggie, you can drive it without them welded, but it will wear through sooner or later...

Cool

no prob, I had mine welded when I had the duals put on..FWIW, if you go with duals, you'll need a new hangar that bolts to the tranny mount, and 2 new hangars on the passenger side..you can get all the hangars in a kit from mustangs unlimited.. ;-)

You need the double hump trans crossmember as stated, but you also need to get an engine crossmember because the straight 6 has a rear sump pan and the crossmember is farther forward. I don't know if you already know this, but if you don't hopefully this will help you some wasting time bolting in an engine that won't fit properly. Good luck man!
