Truck exhaust (V6)
Ok guys..so maybe it's not a Ford, but I just got an '01 GMC Sonoma (but the Mustang is still my primary driver) and there aren't exactly message boards for them and I figured you might be able to help me. I can't stand driving a car I can't hear. What can I do to wake up the sound of this truck? I know it won't sound nearly as good as the Stang, but I just want something that doesn't sound like a ricer (you know...like a Briggs & Straton lawn mower?). Thanks guys.

What engine does it have?
I think borla makes exhaust for those vehicles, they're stainless steel and from what i've heard, they sound pretty good. I'm sure other companies make cat-back kits as well. A good cat back system should tone it up a bit, and i don't think it sounds like you really want to replace the cats or anything like that. ugh be careful! I've heard some awfully ricey Xtremes running around here in redneck country USA. You can't find any mini-truck type message boards? There has to be some around...I'd do a search for Xtreme sites maybe...

Blech. No joke. I just got back from a trip to Indianapolis and saw a couple Xtremes like that. It jyst made me more determined to get a system that isn't like that. I wonder if gutting or removing the cat will help at all. Oh well...I'll figure something out.
