Default Windstar Help

OK, I know this is kind of a stretch posting this here, but it seemed the most appropriate forum

My wife has a 2001 Windstar with the 3.8 engine. The engine light came on and I pulled the code at a parts store. It was P1518, Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve stuck open.

Anyone know where this thing is? Is this something I can fix myself?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Harry

Default Re: Windstar Help

OK, I got this fixed. In case anyone wants to know, there are two little arms that run from the controller to the control valves. One of the bushings had broken and the control arm had fallen off. $6.85 for a new bushing (about 3/8ths of an inch round pieced of plastic) and 5 minutes labor and I have it fixed.

I wonder what a shop would have charged me for this.....
