Cool Diablo chip

A freind of mine just bought a F-250 turbo diesel. He wants more power. I was telling him about the diablo chip. I read that it is good for 100hp. MM&FF did a test. Do any of you have first hand experiance with it? Is it true? Does it really work?

I dont know about the Diablo chip in a F-250.. I do have experience with the chip in a 01 Mustang and one in a 02 S-crew. The mustand picked little to no true performance gains IMO. S-crew however picked up what I guess to be is 15 extra horses all the way acroos the band and 3 mpg on the highway.

Now.... as far as my other experience. I have experience with a Power Programmer in a 02 F-350 4 door dually. Can I say Holy Schnikies... Big Power gains in every gear. ( this truck is a 2wd w/ 6 speed ). Now. .the programmer claimed something like 100 extra horse, 100+ ft. lbs. or torque, and 10 % better mileage.... Wel lits al ltrue but hte mileage.. .If he doesnt care to improve the mielage.. I say go for the programmer.... Other than that im not sure what to tell you. All I know is since the F-250, if he does ANY hauling or towing at all..... GET THE PROGRAMMER.

Cant remember what brand chip it was but we tried to install like four different ones in a powerstroke f-250. Some reason the chips just didnt work, the truck would not start. So we aborted.

But it did work on another powerstroke first try with some cleaning. My friend at the parts house says it just works that way sometimes. I wouldnt trust that.

I do remember it was not a diablo chip.

Cool

The diesel computer are tuned down alot from the factory. They respond ALOT more than a gasoline motor. Your best bet would be to check out the stroker forum on www.f150online.com/ or go to www.ford-diesel.com/ and www.fordtruckworld.com/.
