Question Ford vs Chevy

What kind of mods would it take to make a 94 or 95 Mustang faster than an LT1 and then the LS1 GM cars.I would like to know the mods it would take will all motor no nitrous or blower. What kind of times do those GM cars turn stock. I am not up to date on that crowd.

The GM's run mid to high 13's, stock.

Aftermarket heads, cam and intake plus gears and a little suspension work would have you showing them your tailights. Go for it.

Cool

A Guy I Know has a 1990 LX Hatch, he has 3.55s, pulleys & A Whole exhaust & he can run door-to-door with stock ls-1s. i agree, heads cam & intake will do the trick, youll probably be smokin corvettes though. If you want a specific combo, go to users rides & go in the 12-13 sec range, thats the best way to know what combo to use, they usually list everything

remember that LS1's are super fast stock, so beating them with anything other than cobras take a lot of work!

I've had some great races with LS1's(and a couple of vetts). Won some, lost some, it always depends on the launch.

The SN95's weight more than the f-bodies. By 350 pounds, I think. (Someone may have the exact numbers.) I know there is a significant advantage to the f-bodies.

The fox body Mustang is around half a second quicker in the quarter than SN95's(stock) so it takes more to get the SN95 into the 13 range.

Get some 410's. I'm now convinced that they are the best for the SN95's. If you can launch well with those it would make a huge difference.

Thanks for the times and info. I will definately have to check out the user's rides section now that I know what times to check for. I would love to go with 4.10s but I am planning mods on a car that will be driven about 70 miles round trip to work on a daily basis and I kinda want to keep the gas milage better than my 97 F150 it gets about 16 mpg and is eating me up. If I could get 20 to 22 mpg that would be fantastic.
