Sept 8 in Fontana,CA

Does anyone have info on the drag racing that suppose to be in Fontana on Sept.8? Thanks!

The National Hot Rod Association and California Speedway announced on June 19th that the speedway would host the NHRA's Street Legal Program on a new quarter-mile drag strip to be located in Lot 1 behind the speedway's main grandstands. The new asphalt strip, which is designed for street cars to race in a controlled racing environment, is currently under construction. Construction crews are preparing the burnout and launch pad, which is 60' x 200', as well as placing barricades and the timing system in preparation for the first weekend. A limited number of temporary seating areas will also be installed for spectator viewing.

The first weekend of racing is scheduled for September 8th and 9th. The speedway plans to host two additional dates, September 22nd and 23rd and October 6th and 7th, to get the program underway. Following the November 4th CART FedEx Championship Series race, the speedway plans to conduct a winter racing schedule beginning in mid-January. The speedway will also host a summer racing schedule.

Tickets
The speedway will open its ticket lines at 7:00 a.m. Prices are $10 per person entering the speedway and $10 for racers to purchase a Tech Card. Tech Cards will be limited to the first 500 racers.

Children 12 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult.
