Labor Day Fun...?

So did anyone take a labor day trip or do anything cool for the holiday weekend? I actually got the heck outta town for a couple days and went up north camping. My good friend's son just bought a brand new Yahama Quad 4 with a 450cc four stroke engine. It gets up and moves! I used my Lightning and trailer to take it and his older two stroke model up north. We went rafting on the rifle river and burned up the back roads on the Quads. Broke in a new tent and twelve foot raft I just got last week... It was cool, especially since I haven't gone camping in years... :D

A couple pics...

sounds like fun Dan. I really need to get out campin again. Its been a LOOONG time for me. I think the last time was when I was a kid and had nothing to do but sit and watch the campfire.

Now theres beer to drink, quads to play with, and well, girls to play with too:)

I also had fun over the holiday weekend, see my cedar point thread:cool:

That sounds like fun. Should have mentioned it, and I would'a let you borrow my dirtbike.

Me, I simply had MINE, Wife's, and Daughter's (yeah, all 3 of us) birthdays this weekend!!! Too bad (NOT!) I was at Waterford Hills Road Course hosting my opentrack event. I was missing MY own birthday pool party... but was there in time for the cake! :)

I had 44 cars cars show up for the event, and no mishaps. Great time, and quite easy for me.
Got home in time to open my new aluminum floorjack. :D

Drew - I'll have to check it out! I went to Cedar Point last year and it was a good time. It had been many years since I had been there so they had several new coasters.

Darius - DAMN! I wish I would have thought of that. I totally forgot you had a dirt bike. What brand/type/size is it BTW?

I went to Shiner, Texas for the annual Shiner Picnic!! It was a great time. Brought back memories of growing up in a country type environment. It kind of reminded me of the picnic on the movie "Steel Magnolias". Good food, cold beer, great company, and lots of fun!! I also stopped off at the Spoetzl Brewery, where they brew our beloved Shiner Bock Beer!!! Too bad it wasnt open. On the way home, I stopped off in Columbus, TX where my family used to own 200+ acres. We still have oil wells out there and to see the land made me sad that I cant go and will never be able to take my kids there when I finally have them. That is something I always looked forward to. I did however get a picture of one of the signs that reads "East Hamel Field". Hamel is my last name and the oil well belongs to my dad. That is an awsome feeling, its something that can never be taken from me. My birthday was also Monday. I had a pretty eventful weekend. I had LoJack installed on Saturday in the 01 also. I tried to post a pic of me and the sign, but it tells me there was an error uploading the file.:(

:)

I did something I have NEVER done before! I layed on my *** on the couch and watched TV all day long! (IT POURED HERE THE WHOLE DAY!!!!!)
they did a thing on VH-1 about the 70's. I watched the whole damn thing. 9 Hours worth and did a little reminisscing and tripping out about the old days. Racie went into heat for the second time (my chiwahwah) and was feeling REALLY bad. So we layed around and did some female bonding. Not as exciting as your weekend. But, it felt GREAT to be totally worthless all day. ;)
