show me the way!
OK. I am looking for DR's, its as easy as that. I usually order from Jegs or summit. So if anyone can give me their opinions as to what tire to buy that would be great. I have 16 inch pony rim,s so if you could give me exact tire sizes that would be great. I ran a 13.2 at 112 last year with street tires. I need to be in the 12's this year. I think DR's will do that for me. thanks
jim

245/50/16's Nitto drag radials...............The BF Goodrich drag radials hook better but dont hold up for long.

I usually get mine at sears they price match and they can usually get them in a couple of days and you don't have to pay shipping. They only carry BFG though and they are 255/50/16's I have had three sets of BFG's and one set of nittos the bfg's hook harder but wear out in about half the time. I got 15K from my nittos, and about 7-8K out of the BFG's. Also the nittos are ok in the rain the bfgs suck in the rain.

great info, thanks! that being said, is the difference in stickiness between the 2 worthy of getting the bfg's if they only last 1/2 the time? OR will i still see a significant difference using the nittos and last twice as long? thanks a lot. i just want to benefit from having both; traction and a long tread life.

If you drive it a lot on the street get the nitto's for sure. If its a weekend only and nice day deal go with the BFG's. Also the nittos handle nice the BFG kinda sway in the back. Like I said though for a street car nitto's are the only way to go. I use the BFG's because my car is only driven on nice days and gets about 3-5k a year. That and I am trying to hold down alot of power for on the street.

Nitto's are a great choice for your power and they work great when they are warm. I loved them on the street when I only had 280ish rwhp.

i am actually using my bro's username with his ride info at bottom. i have the holley systemax II kit with all boltons etc.. fastest i have run on street tires with a 75 shot is 13.2 @ 112. I bet these tires would still be fine for the power im making, right? Im calling jegs this week unless you know of any place cheaper. thanks,
jim

Sounds good to me you might try discount tire if you want somewhere local (if they have them in your area).

I would use a tire with more sidewall, and alil wider. But with a 16" your limited.

Yeah with 16's 245/50/16's for nittos is as good as you get. And 255/50/16 BFG's are as big as you get. Remember ponys are only 7 inches wide.
