DO NOT take out your filter...
The air will come in too rough, and the car won't run.
You could try it if you wanted, it won't hurt anything but you'll lose performance.
I don't think you'll squeeze more than 14.60's out of your AOD, but you can let it cool down, push it as far as you can b4 you start it, run the heat on full blast, and run w/ no belt.
You can get another tenth w/ no belt.
Also, you can increase the throttle valve pressure to the trans...it is kind of hard to explain but VERY VERY easy( 20 seconds in the dark)AOD only trick...
It's nice and cool so run 14*-16* timing.
Get ALL the junk from the trunk and back seats...100 pounds=1 tenth ET
Borrow some tires if possible.
Do you use the 1-d-1 shift style for your AOD????Start in 1st, when you hit 5200 go to "d"
when it gets above 2500 go back to 1st(this will hold 2nd so it doesn't shift @ 3500)
again at 5200 go back to "d" til you go through the traps. How bout a short belt if you don't want to go beltless??
a 69 1/2" belt will bypass your power steering and smog pump. that's about it...good luck

You can run w\out the belt or buy a short belt. Bypass the power steering and smog pump. That's worth a few .1's. If you run w\out a belt it's worth more. But make sure you stop at the end of the track and put it back on. Lower the tire pressure some. Pull the front sway bar\disconnect it. Pull the spare tire and anything not bolted down. Ice the intake, then push it thru the staging lanes. Go out and have fun! I can't wait 'till the track opens up.

the 1d1 shuffle with mine is about 3 tenths faster than just leaving in drive, so definately do that, also lower your rear tires down to about 26-28psi and the fronts to about 45 (less rolling resistance) , the belt thing does work too, but its a hassel with taking the belt on and off again and the possibility of overheating (my plastic resovoir was bubbling ) another thing that will help you is to lose those gears, id go with 4.10s if i had to do it again with the AOD but get atleast 3.73s, now go out there and suprise them T-5 drivers like me, later
