Default Door wont open

I have a 90gt power window and manual door locks and the door wont open from the inside I have to open it from the outside and even then the handle seems to barley want to open I noticed this problem when I installed some new door to body molding which I got from 50resto and it looks like its kinda binding cause the door doesnt shut clean against the body like it use to, what Im asking is has anyone had this problem and do they sell new door handle parts cause to get out of my car I have to reach out the window which sucks when its raining.

I had this happen on my stang. Pull your door panel off and check inside. I forget what the exact set-up looks like, but there is a metal rod that connects your handle to a white plastic gear. My rod had come off that gear so that was preventing my inside handle from working. Check that out first before you go ordering any parts. It is a tight area to work in, but since I got mine re-attached I haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps!

I checked looked its like a plastic gear that holds the metal bar that goes from the inside handle along the door to the latch and its fine, I think im gonna have to take it all apart and see whats up, I know they use to be power locks cause theres a lock switch with the window switch and theres the wire harness just hangin in there so maybe the previous owner just rigged something up, thanks.

Mmm, don't know what to tell you then. Good luck tracking down the problem.

The problem is the new door to body weather stripping its preventing the door from shutting all the way which made me have the yank the handle harder which bent the rod outta shape, so its time to try and make it fit, I got the weather strip kit from 50 resto so I know its the right one for the car cause the passenger side fits perfectly.
