Default New Heads. Any Tips

In about 4 or 5 days i will be installing my new heads. they are world castings winsor sr's. 200cc intake runners and 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. cant wait to put them on. i already ordered the gaskets that are reccomended by world and think i have everything i need to put the heads on. according to desktop dyno this should put my motor into the 400hp range. i know its just a program but if you saw these heads you would know that they flow like a river. so my question is any tips on installing these heads. they are used heads cast in 96 but only have 10,000 miles. came of a 12.20et 65 mustang. heads also came with used head studs. should i use these again or buy new head bolts. or should i get the arp head bolts. not sure if the studs already are arp. also the heads have erson cams roller rockers. still has all the springs retainers and all that good stuff still on the heads. any advice would be greatly appreciated. anyone else have these heads by any chance? or heard good or bad about them? thanks guys.

they're going to be a dog on a 302-306 cube small block.. to MUCH flow.. unless you wind the RPM up...

as for the studs... depends on how many times they've been torqued... probably better off getting new studs or bolts... bolts make it easier to pull the heads while it's in the car...studs seal better ...

One thing, with those bid 2.02 valves, I hope that u have the notched pistions to match, otherwise it's going to be a really fast 2 miles; then it a motor rebuild.

right now i have a stock cam and not sure what pistons are in the motor so i will see when i put it all apart. that way i will know how big of a cam i can get. as far as the big valves and 200cc port runners go do you think a carb spacer will help get more power down low by increasing velocity or should i not bother. also have performance everything including gaskets matched only thing stock left is the camshaft.

also one last important question. from world casings web page is suggest gaskets for the heads. i bought the intake and exhaust gaskets that they suggested. the head gaskets are hard to get ahold of. they have to be ordered and i dont think they will get here on time. i only have a few days off work to do the swap. can i use stock head gaskets. those i can get. the one from the site is a felpro #9333pt1. stock is a different number but i dont know what the differance would be? is it really necessary?

also should i get any locktite or any type of sealer. also is there any knind of break in procedure. even though these are used?

thanks for your help guys.

A carb spacer would just make it worse. A spacer adds RPM, but loses low end.

But u do have to match the intake to the heads, rpm wise.

The heads gasket sthey are reconmending are prob for alum heads. They cost more, but are worth it. Since alum expands more the steel, u would tear up a normal gasket.

I am thinking of doing something similar, but want to use and Edelbrock 6025 Heads that also has 2.02" valves. The question is would these pistons, TRW-L2482F30, be good for the heads, they're supposed to be flat tops but with valve reliefs.

If not what specific forged pistons would be good. I am also planning to use Nitrous so am concerned about compresion.

Any help much appreciated.
