Chevy owner votes my car for best appearance/engineered
AWESOME WEEKEND!
In a city close to where I live they have what is called the "Last Run Car Show". The next day they have the nostalgia drags where most of the cars go to the track and race. Well, I was there turning wrenches when a man comes up and says "We have decided to award you with the Best Appearance/Best Engineered car award" and shook my hand. Man, I was, and still am, on cloud 9. My work has paid off with that simple sentence. I went up to thank the track owner and he said "yes, he said he isn't much of a Ford fan but he was truly impressed with your car". Totally awesome. I also took 3rd in the Pro Street Shooout with the ole' naturally aspirated small block Ford behind some nitrous gulping mega-cubic inch big block mopar and chevy. I'm slapping the bottle on and am now going to school some of these guys hopefully before the year is through.

Congrats Kevin, happy for ya man. About two weeks ago, while at the dragstrip, I ran into a friend and two of his friends I didn't know (a guy and a girl). The girl was saying stuff like "man! I just love your car, it's awesome. Is it fun to drag race? etc etc, and she kept praising my car. I had not been having a "great" night since the car wasn't hooking well, but that fixed it. I was all happy the rest of the night. I think about how I used to (and still do--but not as much now) go crazy about souped up Mustangs and so I know how it is. I assume it's even better when you're actually running 9s How do you hold on to that thing, man??

How can you not appreciate cars set up for drag?? If you knew how much work went into having a drag car you wouldn't say that. I give kevin all the praise in the world. Not only is he one of my best friends but he's got one hell of a car.

Building and maintaining a drag car takes time and $$$$. Theirs alot of work to do. You spend all day at the track just tuning and maintaining it...only to make one pass and screw it up again.

Here's a pic of my car that day:
Notice the dude holding his ears........poor little guy The mustang i used to have ran a 9.78 but I let out of it. Probably would have went 9.60's or around there. Thanks for all of the kind words guys, especially Eric. Even after all of the teasin' I've done in the past. 9's are fun but I want to go a bit faster. I'm looking forward to throwin' some juice to it and running some mid to low eights. I hope that will cure my need for speed as this crap gets expensive!

Big Al's is the one! My buddy isn't really in to cars all that much. He pretty much lifts weights all of the time so I'm not going to bad mouth him any about it.
Fox Body 8's probably won't be enough. Don't tell Eric but I plan on setting his nitrous bottles in his room while he sleeps, cranking them open, and taking the 400 out of my 79' Ford and swapping it in his car in place of his motor. Then I'll run faster than eights for sure. Please don't tell him though. Eric Two car team? Sounds interesting to me. I'm going to have to step it up a few notches it sounds like though. May need to give Billy a call and let him take a stab at this. We could kick some serious but in Pro Street, around here anyway.
