Radio Help
i have a 69 coupe. I had speakers installed professionally but cannot seem to find a radio solution...i used a custom autosound head unit, but it was defective and i really don't want to use them again. My installer suggested i find a Pioneer shaft radio, or mount a modern radio in the glove compartment...any thoughts/suggestions?

Re: Radio Help
You can't go wrong with a Pioneer shaft radio. They are adjustable enough to fit the dash opening on a 69 without raping the dash like they have to do on the earlier cars. If you want CD, you can get a shaft radio and mount a cd changer in the trunk or keep your stocker in the dash and mount an in-dash style DIN radio/CD in the glovebox. Pioneer head units have excellent FM tuners and they can be had with high power or RCA outputs to add external amps.

Re: Radio Help
My buddy used a Kenwood shaft mount in his car, I saw they still had them at Best Buy.....a year or so ago. Worth probably checking out. The price tag on them is not to bad. On second thought, I just checked their website and had no luck

Re: Radio Help
JZALK3metsfan13 - I just got the latest issue of Mustang Monthly magazine, on the back cover is an ad for The Paddock Parts, they are showing a Sanyo CD/Cassette combo for 67-70 Mustangs, looks like a new dash plate included, 180 watts. Check www.paddockparts.com, this may be your solution!

Re: Radio Help
Maybe, but maybe not, Crutchfield is more concerned with modern applications. Too bad too, their pricing would be better.
